Paint, FINALLY!!!
So the plan was to paint our bedroom BEFORE we moved in. Well, that didn't happen. The new plan is to paint it next week. Money is set aside, the schedule is free. We'll see if it actually happens. (Pictures to follow if it does.)

Way Cool for Digital Scrapbooking
So, I've been enjoying finishing my wedding scrapbook with the amazing computer program by Creative Memories. But I've also been wanting to find additional free papers and emblishments for my collection. We'll today I found something cool. It's called a "blog train." In this one http://ldsblogtrainblog.blogspot.com/ many people created digital scrapbooking things based off an LDS theme. Like the last one was "Called to Serve". Everything seems to be based off the same colors, which is nice. (I even found out that someone had created a Thai mission tag. Way cool!)
The next "blog train" is set for June 1st. Guess I'll have to head over to Mom's for the internet that day. :)

Sad news from my school
This sad story happened to the choir teacher at my school and his daughter (one of my students).
I'm glad that everyone is okay physically. But the family is struggling financially. They had just bought this new house on auction. The home insurance was not in place yet. So they must pay for everything themselves. Our school is going to put on a benefit concert to try and raise some funds to help the family. If you're interested in donating, let me know and I'll direct you to the fund that has been set up.

I don't wanna work
The problem with early days is that once I've gotten to work, I'd much rather visit than get anything done. I think the problem is multiplied (ha ha) by the fact that my two BTFF (Best Teachers Friends Forever) both have 1st period prep. So they don't have to teach, I don't have to teach until fourth period. Can you see the problem? And there's so much to visit/discuss/argue/complain/gossip about.
But as I do have a busy weekend with a party last night, one tonight, two tomorrow, and Mother's Day on Sunday...I don't have time to grade homework over the week. *sigh* I guess I'll get to work now.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend and Mother's Day.

Lockdown
Relax. Breathe. You're going to survive. No, this is not a drill.
This is what I said over and over again to my students today in 4th period as we went into lockdown. Luckily, nothing came of it. Simply a mistake over a chemical substance. But as I told my students, better safe than sorry.

Life - Stinking Unusual Crappy Krud
(Ok. I know that you spell "Krud" with a C, but if I did that my acronymn wouldn't have worked.)
So, remember that small little problem from 6 months ago? It's back. And will be requiring surgery part 3. Joy. Apparently, according to the doctor, I'm an unusual case. I'm unusual because what happened six months ago shouldn't have. And I'm really unusual because it's happening again when none of the previous factors are in place. Why can't I be normal?
There is a good side to all this. (Yes, I am writing this after I've calmed down A LOT from finding out yesterday.) I do know the procedures. I know what recovery is like. I have a great surgeon and the amazing wound care clinic to go to. I live closer to work. Kaylie is older. Nate's almost on his off week. My mom is in town this time. I know I can get through this and that it won't dominate my life.
There is one small scary part. If it's not what it was last time...it might be a rare type of cancer.

New Format and general updates
I tried a new format for the blog today. Wow! It's so much easier than it was when I used to have my blog (hyperbolicparabolid.blogspot.com...yes, I was wierd.) I'm not sure if I love the new template yet. We'll see.
The family's doing ok. Nate's been sick now for 3 week. *sigh* It took awhile to get a final diagonis, but it came out to be a sinus infection and mono. Kaylie was not acting herself last night either, so back to Dr. Probst we went. Turns out she has "pink eye." Joy! But I'm doing very well...for now.
I got two new callings this month. I'm the 2nd counselor in our new Young Women's presidency. I'm also the the ward "Quartet" pianist. Yes, that's right. We don't have enough interested people to have an actual choir. We'll see how it all goes. (Especially since my piano hasn't worked properly since last June.)

Weigh Loss Continued
Day 3...and three days of exercising. We even want for a long, cold, and VERY wet walk yesterday in the rain. Let's hope I can keep it up. I'd like to be better prepared for Walk/Run for a Cure in May.
E.T.A.: four times of exercising in 3 days. I'm sure that treking up the hill at the U to the science lecture from where we parked our car HAS to count as exercising.

Weight Loss
Nate's been doing the P90X exercise program for the last month. And the results have been awesome for him. So, I thought that I ought to do something similar. I mean, I've been the same pre-pregnancy weight for six months now. But 90 minutes a day 6 days a week doesn't quite work with my schedule. That's okay, I thought, I can just do my own yoga and pilates program before I feed Kaylie in the morning. Yeah, right. It's amazing how that little girl decided to wake up earlier and earlier every morning I decided to work out.
This morning I came up a solution I thought might work. A walk! Kaylie gets outside, and I'm not stuck inside either. The weather even cooperated today (although, it's not supposed to tomorrow or Wednesday.) It's sad to admit that my small walk around the block had me winded. But it's a start. And if I bundle Kaylie up better, snowy and rainy days shouldn't be a problem. Let/s see what happens tomorrow...

Pictures of House and Open House
Hope you enjoy! There are pictures of our house and of the Open House party.
(This is NOT my best job of editing a movie together. But time was short tonight.)

The Open House
So the open house went well. We were a little worried when only 3 people had visited 1 1/2 hours into it, but then a large group arrived and stayed for a couple of hours later. (I love family!) If the weather holds out well, I'll post some pictures of our house today. (And possibily a video of our new family room...minus furniture.)
I hope everyone in blog world and the real world is doing well!
